SPMT

Modular design, capacity matched to your load. Self-propelled modular transporters in 36–60 t axle load series.

SPMT
Overview

SPMT solutions

An SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transporter) is a self-propelled heavy transport system made up of modules that can be coupled to one another longitudinally and laterally. Modules and power pack units (PPUs) are interchangeable; the optimal configuration is assembled according to the geometry and weight of the load.

36 t per axle · 100–10,000 t transport range · 355/65 R15 24pr IC40

The SPMT offers a complete transport system for industrial installation, Ro-Ro operations and heavy haulage. With a capacity of 36 tons per axle, the 36T series carries loads from 100 to 10,000 tons using different module and power combinations. Modules and PPU power packs are fully interchangeable.

Available in 4-, 5- and 6-axle configurations with a platform width of 2,430 mm or 3,000 mm. The optimal configuration can be selected according to the geometry and weight of the load to be transported.

An allowable bending stress of 450 N/mm² and a bending moment of +6,700/–5,025 kNm in the main girder structure ensure structural reliability under heavy loads.

  • Modular and expandable — 100 to 10,000 tons
  • Fully interchangeable module design with PPU power packs
  • 4- / 5- / 6-axle configuration options
  • 2,430 mm and 3,000 mm platform width
  • 268 kW or 402 kW PPU option

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is an SPMT?

An SPMT is a self-propelled modular transporter; its modules are coupled together to transport very heavy and bulky loads.

How is SPMT capacity determined?

The axle load series, the number of axles per module and the number of modules are determined by the weight and dimensions of the load and the bearing capacity of the ground.

Can it be used in Ro-Ro operations?

Yes. A configuration for Ro-Ro loading and unloading is prepared based on the ramp gradient and deck level data.
