Straddle carrier solutions
A straddle carrier is a self-propelled gantry carrier that straddles the load, lifts it from its four corners and moves it around the site. For heavy and sensitive products such as battery energy storage (BESS) containers, containerized generator sets and transformers, it is a safer and faster solution than mobile cranes and forklifts, and it needs only a single operator. It offers the same flexibility for containers, precast concrete and long loads.

For BESS, generator and transformer production
In energy equipment plants, the product moves many times between assembly stations, the test area, the stock yard and shipping. A straddle carrier handles all of these moves with a single machine.

What is a straddle carrier used for?
It straddles the load, lifts it from its four corners, moves it around the site, stacks it and loads it onto trucks / trailers.
Which model is suitable for BESS containers?
For 20' BESS containers (≈2,438 mm wide, 2,896 mm high, 30–35 tons), the VLT-ST3533 BESS series with 3,300 mm inner width is recommended; with 2-stage lifting it can stack 2 high. For heavier or 40' units, 45–60 t models are selected.
Should I choose electric or diesel?
Zero-emission electric (LiFePO4) is preferred for enclosed production halls and BESS and transformer plants; diesel (Stage V / Euro V) is preferred for outdoor yards with long shifts and areas without charging infrastructure.
What information is needed for a quote?
The heaviest load, load dimensions, lifting points (top-corner twistlock / bottom lug / chain), number of stacking tiers, door and aisle dimensions, ground conditions and gradient, indoor/outdoor area and number of daily trips are sufficient.
How are delivery and installation handled?
The machine arrives knocked down in 2–3 40' Open Top containers; a specialist technician completes assembly, testing and operator training on site in about 10–15 days.
