Metallurgical Vehicles

When moving slag and hot metal, safety comes first. Slag pot, molten steel ladle and hot metal transport vehicles.

Metallurgical Vehicles
Overview

Metallurgical vehicle solutions

Metallurgical transport vehicles are designed to safely move slag pots, molten steel ladles and hot metal in electric arc furnace and integrated iron and steel plants. Splash-proof covers, heat insulation, anti-tipping equipment and remote control options put personnel safety first.

High load capacity · Easy loading / unloading of the hot metal ladle

The TSC-260 is an articulated carrier with a 260-ton capacity, designed for the safe, continuous transport of molten pig iron from the blast furnace to the steel melt shop in iron and steel plants. Its 8-axle design, distributed over 4 bogies, transfers the load evenly to the ground.

The ±150 mm lift stroke adapts to ladle transfer points at different heights. Hydraulic power-linked steering and a 60° bogie angle provide high maneuverability on narrow in-plant routes.

Effective heat insulation and high safety standards put operator comfort and environmental safety first. It reaches approx. 10 km/h unladen and approx. 5 km/h laden.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How does a slag pot carrier work?

The vehicle picks up the pot from the station, carries it to the dumping area and tips out the slag with its hydraulic tipping mechanism; it then returns the pot to its place.

Is it compatible with our existing pots?

Using your pot dimensions, trunnion spacing and weight data, the vehicle's pot interface is engineered to fit your pot.

Can it be used in narrow areas in front of the furnace?

Models with an articulated chassis and a small turning radius can be selected for narrow routes in front of the furnace; the layout is checked on the drawing.
